Be one of the first to experience this terrifying story-driven, single-player, all-new survival horror game from Striking Distance Studios. Both come with an extra character skin, two weapon skins, and a Contraband pack (that last one’s only for PlayStation, though). The gripping horror of The Callisto Protocol is about to be unleashed. The game challenges players to escape the maximum security Black Iron Prison and uncover its terrifying secrets. The game is scheduled to release this year, on December 2, and pre-orders are now up for its day one edition and digital deluxe edition. For starters, here’s a brief summary from the game’s official website: Set on Jupiter’s moon Callisto in the year 2320, The Callisto Protocol is a next-generation take on survival horror. During PlayStation’s State of Play, Striking Distance took a couple of minutes to delight us with a short, yet impressive gameplay trailer.And let me tell you, it’s absolutely nightmare fuel. It’s safe to say that the especially queasy will want to give The Callisto Protocol a pass. The Callisto Protocol the latest third-person sci-fi horror experience by Dead Space creator Glen Schofield is finally ready to show us what it’s made of. One example is a spinning turbine which, if he’s knocked into, gradually drags him in arm first and grinds him up like a blender. Enemies can bite down on his head and rip his face off and, if he’s not careful, he can be killed by the environment. Lee can be subjected to some nasty deaths himself that are so brutal, they almost make Mortal Kombat’s fatalities look tame.
That last one won’t always stop them though, as even without legs they can crawl after you surprisingly quickly. Lee can cave in skulls with a good whack, throw monsters into giant fans with a gravity gun, and shoot or hack off individual limbs (something carried over from Dead Space).
